Maybe yayes is right with his base fw assumption, as there are 25xx models with different base FWs. This might explain why it's working for some 25xx models but not all of them.

Many reports of people following the steps exactly and still bricking. There is obviously some other factor causing these bricks that has not been pin pointed exactly. In the mean time I think the front page should be changed or at least a warning put out that this is not stable. I believe it in time that this will get hammered out but until then I would stay away.

As with anything if you care about what you are modifying minimize your risks and dont rush things.

The plug should seriously be pulled on this until its stable. So many casualties

wit the exception of a few people last night, there is no excuse for complaining about bricks.

The info on how to do everything required is on the front page, has ben since last night, and reports of bricks were posted by midnight last night, people should know the risks, and decide whether to try or not.

clearly many people are reading nothing, then hitting a wall, how many posts are there now from people complaining they have a black screen and asking how to fix it?

The information was edited into the post AFTER the bricks were reported. When my PS3 got bricked (about 5 past midnight eurotime), all the main post had was the download info and a 3.55 requirement.

I know, which is why I said with the exception of a few people last night, but hey, there are no guaranteeswith these things, if you want security in your ps3 updates, you have to use playstation firmware i guess, we all take a risk when we jailbreak our console regardless of who has tested it before us.

We have nobody but ourselves to blame if something goes wrong because we installed a cfw within hours of its release and having no back up or flasher to get out of trouble.

I have the same model with the same base FW. I read u have base fw 3.50 above it will brick. So theoretically is safe to upgrade.

Yep mine PS3 is 2504B 320GB Datacode:0C
and my factory FW3.40 and i want to be sure that i wont brick my PS3 by this CFW and that's why i want to know full info about Rogero's PS3

I do have a CECH-2504B Datecode 0C 320Gb base FW 3.40 running CFW4.21 fine, but at this time and the different brick stories, i can't guarantee anything to you

Please anyone with a hardware flasher and a machine that bricked while installing the CFW then you have un-bricked it, please contact me.

Because what I need to fix this weird problem is someone who already have a flasher, a PS3 that bricked, so we can fix it, then replicate the brick, then re-fix it, and test another version of the CFW4.21...
