Folder Structure

Postby mulga-bill1234567890 » Wed Oct 12, 2011 1:56 am

Hi,

I am confused over the folder structure for 1. game files,
2. ISO files.

I have an external 1TB WD HDD.

Is this the correct folder structure
'drive letter':\dev_hdd0\games\BLES00912-[Virtua Tennis 4] ***which then branches out to*** \patched_eboot\EBOOT.BIN
\PS3_GAME\LICDIR\LIC.DAT
\TROPDIR\NPWR01224_00\TROPHY.TRP
\USRDIR\EBOOT.BIN
\resource.1.bin
\resource.bin
\PS3_DISC.SFB

or also for ISO files
'drive letter':\dev_hdd0\PS3ISO\Virtual Tennis 4.ISO

Or should I be usinf \dev_usbXXX\games\BLES00912-[Virtua Tennis 4]
and \dev_usbXXX\PS3ISO\Virtual Tennis 4.ISO

in this case what is the 'XXX' Drive number? Where do i get that number from?

Sorry if I am a noob.

Thanks

File structure is as follows
dev_hdd0\GAMES\BLESXXXX\PS3_GAME
dev_hdd0\PS3ISO\
dev_usbX\GAMES\BLESXXXX\PS3_GAME
dev_usbX\PS3ISO\
CECHA01 (500GB /REBUG 4.30.2/)

So is my external HDD classified as hdd0 or usbx( and where do I get 'x' from? I assume x is a number?)

and

how can I do it with an ISO? is it dev_hdd0\PS3ISO\'gamename'.ISO (or will it be 'BLESXXXX.ISO'?)

sorry for all of the questions.

usb is external and the x would be the port # (01, 02, 03, etc.) and yes gamename.iso is fine as the BM get the display name from the PARAM inside the iso

Ok I am still having problems.
I have a fat 40gig PS3 with CFW 3.55 (from cobra-usb.com), a cobra usb with FW 4.0. and Cobra USB Manager 4.0.

I have the folder structure on my external HDD as follows
dev_usb2\games\BLUS30772\ (then in that folder I have folders PS3_GAME and PS3_UPDATE and file PS3_DISC.SFB)

I plug my Western Digital 1TB HDD (formatted to FAT32 by Fat32FormatterEN) into the second USB port (with the Cobra Usb plugged into the first USB port).

I load Cobra USB Manager but no games are listed ALSO the screen looks funny. It looks like poor resolution and part of the page is cut off on the right edge of the screen.

I have been working on this for 2 days solid and cannot seem to work out what the problem is.

EDIT: Comparing the Cobra USB Manager screen to the picture in the Cobra User Manual it ooks like there is a strip around the whole screen missing. The resolution is so poor that when I insert external HDD into USB slot 2 down the bottom of the page I am only guessing it says USB#2. However it seems to be detecting the external HDD but not the game on it.

Tried caps for GAMES and also tried fr DEV_ISO2 but no luck.

I have tried with WD 1TB FAT32 external HDD and 2 different Lexar 4GB Flash drives also with no luck.

I am now thinking maybe something to do with the Cobra USB manager software compatability on my PS3 (Fat 40GB) ??? has there been any others people with any issues? is there any other usb managers I can try that will work with Cobra?

dev_usbX\ refers to the way that the ps3 sees your USB drive, the actual way you're supposed to have the folders int here is just root\PS3ISO or root\PS2ISO

Something like this
