new version 4.02.00 scanning on USB ntfs ?

Postby vesper8 » Sun Mar 04, 2012 9:30 pm

Hi there!

I really wish you gave a little more info when updating.. like the new scanning feature sounds like it could be amazing but is it still just for fat32?

Because now I've obviously converted and transferred all my games onto NTFS drives since the new network sharing feature was released. But I'd still love to be able to put those drives back to being connected directly to the PS3 via usb.. because I figure that would help with the excruciating game-scanning-over-the-network that I'm dealing with. Playing games is nice and fast but scanning.. and especially since there's no caching going on so every time I want to see my game-list again I have to scan and wait for like 2 minutes just to scan a folder with 30 ISO PS3 games inside.

I have only about 10 games in the PS3ISO folder on my Network, and it scans same as my hdd's do, which is pretty quick.

Game playing sucks for me, because i am using Wireless , not Wired, but I wanted to try and see if I had same issue as you.

But even if you connect that drive with NTFS back to the PS3 via usb, you can only copy games etc, you can't play backups.
If we all are here to help others , then what exactly are others here for?
