Multiman BUG

Postby SwordOfWar » Sun Mar 04, 2012 11:56 pm

The new Multiman has a bug with the Filemanager. If you enter a directory in the filemanager, then close and re-open the multiman application, the open directories are not remembered in the filemanager.

This was not a problem with older multiman versions.

Please fix this, because I use filemanager frequently to transfer media to specific folder, so it helps for filemanager to remember open directories even when restarting multiman.

Thanks for the bug report, but I couldn't replicate it, I did restart and even turned the system off, and it still remembered the directory.
still, thanks and we'll pass it along. :)

I'll test it out again later on and report my findings, but this is the 3rd time I've had the problem.

Might need to reinstall Multiman.

I don't know if it makes any difference, but I closeMultiman by holding the PS button, instead of using the in-game XMB quit option. not sure if that matters or not but I'll test it some more and report my findings.

Try closing Multiman properly and see if you get the same results. I know I have no issue with it remembering the open directory I last was in.
If we all are here to help others , then what exactly are others here for?

If you close multiMAN through PS and not through multiMAN it will not save anything on exit

UPDATE: This applies to XMMB settings also (and probably any other multiman settings). It seems if you change any type of setting you have to use multiman's quit option for them to save. I don't think this applied in older versions because I rarely ever use multiman's native exit options.

Just reinstalled a fresh copy of mmCM ver 04.02.00 FULL

Bits is correct. It only saves if you use the built-in interface button to close the application. Using in-game XMB's "Quit" or the basic black screen with Quit doesn't work.

I'm not sure if this is the same or not with older releases.

If this is the intended result, I'd suggest that it saves the open directory each time you switch folders, so it works even if closing the application using the system quit options. I'll request it under the feature thread.

Don't use PS for exiting multiMAN or mmCM, as it uses msgDialog, which is a GameOS function, thus without any arguments multiMAN or mmCM will not have have any control to save settings.

my recommendation, never use PS for exiting any app. :)

Well currently your recommendation is the only way for it to work :)

I still think the problem could be solved completely if settings did not wait to be saved on exit, and instead saved on each option change. For example, if you turn "theme Music" to Disabled/Off, it should save the settings right after changing the option, instead of waiting to do that during the exit phase.

If it's done this way, it wouldn't matter if you used the PS button or not, since the settings would already be saved.

I suspect this has something to do with the recent overhaul of the mmCM optimizations, as I've been using MultiMAN for years it seems, and never noticed this issue before.

Hopefully someone will hear my cry and have a look at this though, but thanks for helping me troubleshoot the issue and find a "workaround" :)

You can exit multiMAN by holding [CIRCLE] and you'll get your settings saved properly. Using the {PS} button to quit is never a good idea anyway. So just use the [O] button like I do and you're troublefree. Actually I find it easier to hold the {circle} button with my right thumb instead of pressing that oddly placed {PS} button. :)

Well the newest update fixed it so it saves even when using the PS button, like I knew it could be done.

Thanks Cobra team.

PS: The "hold circle" method also was not possible in File Manager mode, since this button was linked to the file operation menu.
