mmCM spoof 4.00 4.01

Ok I decided to try the spoofer in mmCM

When I click it by pressing X, I get 'To use this feature you must attach the Cobra Dongle to the PS3'

Ok it is attached of course

If I click on OK, does this mean its working

Is there not a way to have a Spoofer built in to the Cobra Firmware instead, so it shows in System Settings that your on 4.00 or 4.01

When I used the Rebug 4.00_Version_Spoofer_2.1_355 , I could log into PSN, but with this built into mmCM I can't

I am just curious as to how do I know in mmCM that its working or not?

If you get this prompt it means that it can't enable the spoof. Make sure that you have the dongle connected and do not remove it after restart. I changed to 4.10 and it rebooted my PS3 - now it shows 4.10 in System Settings.

The dongle is connected. It does not reboot my PS3

Ok I rebooted the PS3, restarted mmCM and it worked now. Strange but working

OK just so I understand... spoofing allows me to play my original copy of Twisted Metal without worrying about updates, is that right ?

What if wanted to backup my game and run it from HDD, is spoofing enough or do I need to patch something ?

Spoofing will just prevent the newer 3.55 patched games from updating your PS3 to whatever the game needs it to be, but it won't let you play any original newer games and won't allow PSN access.
