And another one bites the dust. With the fall of PS3CHEATUSB, rumors of E3 releasing a new cfw and now CobraUSB cracked it seems the PS3 is alive and kicking. PS3HAX member Zadow has cracked the dongle. This is not a simple pkg you can drop on the drive and install. You will need a little know how. But I am sure before too long some one will come along and release a friendly package. Mark one more up to the PS3 Devs and welcome back!

So an interesting developement has arisen, it seems Euss a well known dev for ps3 replied with this:

at least I won't be needed to give zadow unself/ungpkg with sources and precompiles like his last readself2/3/4/5 fail (so much better to use scetool anyhow)...

(which btw are all on wiki, /files and gitorious too)

I do not know who incepted this thread with nonbased remarks about Atmel AVR/Micochips PIC, but they should look closer to the content and what is needed for such target. There is nothing AVR/PIC related inside the filesets, just plain unself/ungpkg'ed files which where ran through IDA and exported i64/db files. It also does not make any sense to even /want/ it as a dongle, because if you have the PPU/SPU changes, it would make alot more sense to distribute it as patches (MFW Builder TCL) or live patcher: payload (payloader3) then a stupid dongle.

In all honesty, I am going to congratulate Zadow for his efforts in reversing the dongle and contributing to this ungrateful scene, regardless of the whole outcome of the result, and on a slightly offtopic note, GraVoX/Mark Webber et al should be congratulated for their JB2USB reversing efforts too.

This scene is in dire need of contributors, but it doesn't help when there's too much negative drama in the scene.

I am not going to congratulate him because he did not crack the dongle and these files are far from complete.
There is no news story here except that some guy posted files on twitter
I think I may fire up the old IDA and SCETOOL and see if I can make the news tomorrow.
