Anyway to play red dead redemption?

Postby irrumate » Mon Sep 26, 2011 9:40 pm

when I try to load red dead redemption from my external hd it says I need to upgrade to 3.6 ... anyway around this? I saw there is a .pkg file for Red Dead Redemption, so I downloaded to my flash drive and installed it, then hooked up my external hard drive to run the game again but still received the same window. do I just have to wait or am I missing something?

To delete game updated, installs etc.. you goto the Sony XMB in the Game Column. Goto Game Data Utility and delete any updates/data you see there for your game.
When you fire up the game next and get to the update screen, say no "Cancel" (Press O) and the game should boot then ;)

this appeared as though it was going to work, however, after i hit cancel, it went to a screen that said "Loading Red Dead Redemption". After that screen, it went back to my ps3 game dashboard ... i did notice that when backing up the game, i couldn't dump it into .iso files for some reason ... after a while of trying it would just give a screen that said "dump %s. Please wait..." and i have to hit "ok", so i tried backing it up in two parts ... is that the problem? is it a problem with the disk?
